How long do you have to wait so you can cancel a non operation plan with the CA DMV?

i accidentally did the non operation plan while trying to renew the registration and pay. the amount was due until next month on the 6th how can i cancel the plan because i am still going to use the car. is a better solution to go to the DMV and clarify|||I would go to DMV office. That way you won't get messed up with paper work.
