10 year statute of limitation with IRS debt question?

in aug 1999, i filed about 7 years of IRS income tax returns. i had an accountant prepare the returns but he was not a CPA and i do not remember if he signed the returns or not.

i was a non-filer for many years of income tax.

i sent the IRS my package in august 1999 for all of these years.

i owed a LOT - over $25000. i knew that.

i intended to do an offer in compromise but i never got around to it. i live in bklyn now. in around 2002, the irs started with the letters and i got very upset because i didn't have the money to pay and i was not employed on a regular basis.

somehow, in the past 5 years, i have not heard a word from the IRS.

at this point, i believe through conversations with the agent or whomever the woman was at the irs, that she was convinced i was a financial basket case and i could not deal with this debt. i also had terrible problems with the irs in the 80s and they hounded me for debt that i didn't owe but i didn't properly handle it and i got a liar of a revenue collector and i paid through the nose, about $10k although in reality, i never owed one penny (the irs assessed additional taxes in 1982 - 84 on mileage deductions i took as a part of my sales job at the time and it was totally legit). but i didn't answer their letters in the right amount of time allowed because i moved to another state and i got all kind of fees added and it became a total nightmare, and i paid back a LOT of money.

i told the agent in 2002 all of this and i think she believed me. i told her to look it up so she could see that every word i said was true. (it was).

so i thought that maybe the irs would leave me alone for the taxes owed that i sent in august 1999.

my question is that there is a federal tax lien on my credit file for over $35,000 now and it was placed there on december 2000. so the federal tax lien was placed on my file one year and 4 months AFTER i filed my taxes.

in august 2009 (which is 10 months from now), 10 years would have passed and if the IRS has not collected from me (i still don't have the $$ to pay NOR steady employment), do i owe the money still.

FIRST QUESTION: will they likely renew the lien?? i have heard that they seldom do this.

SECOND QUESTION: i have not heard from the irs in over 5 years concerning my debts. what does this mean?? it is a positive sign???

THIRD QUESTION: does the 10 years SOL start and end the day and month and year of the date of taxes that i filed (meaning my date and signature which was my name - MH HALLSTIN and the date was Aug 1999 OR

FOURTH QUESTION: is the SOL from the date of the lien that is listed on my credit report, which is actually december 2000 (which is one year and 4 months AFTER the date i filed).

FIFTH QUESTION: i have decided to file bankruptcy at any time that the irs has decided to renew this lien for another 10 years because i cannot take the stress of it. so my question is, is this old irs debt dischargable in a chapter 7 bankruptcy (what about a chapter 11???)

also, since 1999, i am again a non-filer however i probably don't owe much money and probably the irs owes ME money (which of course i will never see and i am OK with that).

ANOTHER QUESTION: i would like to file those years since 1999 and catch it all up. will filing these years trigger anything with the IRS to look at my situation again and make them renew the lien i referred to again.

or should i wait to file the back tax years AFTER the 10 year lien expires??

ANOTHER QUESTION: when does the irs renew an old lien and are there any rules about it (such as does the irs have to file another tax lien before the 10 years expires) and most importantly, as i asked above, the crux of this very long post is when does the 10 years start and end on a tax lien, when i file my taxes or when they put a lien on my credit file (or is there another factor that i am unaware of that is used as the 10 years that the irs is allowed to use).

ANOTHER QUESTION: if i ask the irs all these questions, is it going to trigger/renew their interest in me???|||1. IRS does not make a decision to renew the lien. Something has to be done to extend the statute of limitations. This can include filing bankruptcy, submitting an offer in compromise or signing a waiver to extend it.

2. Your account was probably classified currently not collectible because of hardship and your income has not increased to the point where collection efforts would be productive or as unable to locate because they couldn't find you. You should get a letter once a year stating your current balance due unless IRS does not have your current address.

3. The 10 years clock starts running on the date on the first bill you received for each year.

4. The date shown on the credit report is the date the Notice of Lien was filed. It is irrelevant to statute of limitations questions.

5. If you file bankruptcy the taxes will be discharged except as to assets that are exempt under your state law that exceed IRS levy exemptions.

6. If you file returns and have refunds, they will be applied to your outstanding debt. If your current income indicates you can make payments, IRS will have a look at you.

7. You are required to file returns on time. You won't get advice in this forum telling you not to file your returns.

|||Don't go blaming anyone for your mistakes, you are required to file your tax returns yearly and timely, due by April 15 or if you filed and extension to file then it will be Oct 15th.

The statute of limitation expires 10 years after the last assessment on your tax return.

Why not just call and pay your taxes all we all do. |||By google to collect some related information or you may try using answer engines like yahoo answer or yedda.com to get some related ideas.nonetheless,If you prefer some direct resource, here http://www.DebtFreetips.info/debt-free.htm is a good one from my own experience.

|||The SOL date starts the day taxes were assessed, not the day the returns are filed. If you do not do anything to extend the SOL date (office in compromise, bankruptcy, sign an extension) it will end 10 years after that date, all liens will release and you have the clean slate.

You need to see your transcripts to see when the SOL expires. Filing your other returns will not extend that.

Hi there, sorry for late reply, i wish to renew the domain jointtm.com, but why $34.95, and not $9.95?

Amount due: $34.95

Using excel, how do you get dates to automatically update when desired?

this is a complex question.

I'm setting up a contract excel sheet at work. Some of the contracts automatically renew themselves after X amount of time (which i'll input into a cell) from when the contract begins (also another cell input).

So lets say I have a contract which automatically renews itself every 2 years and it begins 1/1/2006. so it'll update itself 1/1/2008. after 1/1/2008, its outdated on the excel sheet. can i set up a forumula so that date will automatically update itself after every two years.

Thanks a ton!!!|||The formula below should provide a renewal date that starts at 2008, increases to 2010 from 1/1/08, then to 2012 from 1/1/10, and so on.

=DATE(2006 + 2*INT(( YEAR(TODAY()) - YEAR(B3))/2)+2,1,1)

For simplicity, you may want to break it up into a couple of steps, or just do it all at once as above.

EDIT: Forgot to say, B3 in the above equation is the beginning date (1/1/2006 in your example)|||One can accomplish this via VBA. It will require enabling macros every time the file is opened to guarantee everything is properly updated if it needs to be. Goto VB editor (ALT+F11). Goto ThisWorkbook. Locate the Open event.

Suppose the amount of time for contract is in cell B1. Suppose the date is in A1. Copy the following Code into the open event...

Dim shtnam As String

Dim xlsht As Worksheet

Dim xlrng As Range

Dim dt1 As Date

Dim dt2 As Date

shtnam = "Sheet1" '%26lt;---- name of sheet where cells are

Set xlsht = ThisWorkbook.Sheets(shtnam)

Set xlrng = xlsht.Range("A1")

dt1 = CDate(xlrng.Value)

Set xlrng = xlsht.Range("B1")

dt2 = DateAdd("yyyy", xlrng.value, dt1)

Set xlrng = xlsht.Range("A1")

If Date %26gt; dt2 Then

xlrng.Value = dt2

Application.DisplayAlerts = False

ThisWorkbook.Save

Application.DisplayAlerts = True

End If

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

This assume B1 is in years

If B1 is in months then

dt2 = DateAdd("m", xlsht.Range("B1"), dt1)

If B1 is in days then

dt2 = DateAdd("d", xlsht.Range("B1"), dt1)

Wasn't sure if you wanted to maintain the beginning date of the contract, if so just put it in a seperate cell, say B3. Aladou has devised a clever formula, this solution will work perfectly fine so long as whenever the contract renews the length of it remains fixed, I didn't make that assumption.|||Possibly. You would need to create an "IF" formula, and even then, I'm not positive it would work. Basically it would state this:

=If(today()="1/1/2006", "1/1/2008", "1/1/2006")

which means if today's date is 1/1/2006, change this cell to read 1/1/08. If today is not 1/1/06, then leave this cell to read 1/1/06.

This will solve the initial problem, however, it will not keep renewing every two years. What you're talking about would be a perpetual calculation, which, to my knowledge, isn't possible yet with Excel.

Must we redesign EVERYTHING made in the world to be as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible?

Is this the only stratagy to continue the survival AND prosperiety of mankind without causing a total enviromental collapse , or completely running out of resources due to them being managed in a way that is NOT sustainible? If the enviroment could be kept healthy worldwide and resources managed in a way that they are renewed, in the amounts needed, so they never run out, wouldn't this allow for prosperiety without it being a threat to survival into the future forever? or if that's not possible at the very least would it push those two events as far into the future as humanly possible, degrading the enviroment as slowly as possible, and streching resources as far as they can go, as long as it is continueally attempted on a daily and yearly basis? Either event occouring would, of course, totally collapse civilization, also meaning the economy would cease to exsist meaning NOONE would make ANY more money, meaning capitalists have just as much vestited intrest in this as anyone, right?|||You seem to have investigated into this matter already as if it was your thesis. Is it? Well, all I can tell you is that you are completely right in your analysis. People who have studied and researched environmental science (like me) know one thing different from the general public and that is the fact that in this finite earth, resources were supposed to be depleted, biodiversity used, because the world was made for the benefit of the humans (whether you speak religiously or scientifically). It was only the very greedy (who you have mentioned as the 'capitalists') who have gone to extremes for their personal benefits and that is where the environmentalists came in and they are telling everyone over and over again, 'please stop this unfair behaviour towards the poor and underprevileged of the world, they are not capable of eating up all the resources of the world, like you are'.

I hope you understand what I mean.|||I don't think redesigning EVERYTHING should come first. That would be next-to-impossible to do at the moment, unless a major upheaval might pop up out of the blue, and compels us to regress.

What can humanly be done is learn some humility toward our finite environment, give some thorough observation to what this world is about in terms of natural processes, and then come up with sensible solutions to our needs. Greed and excess riches to some is wholly unnecessary and, in the long run lethal to us all and possibly to the whole planet. Is my SUV that necessary, or should I try coming back to living closer downtown and walk is an example among zillions? General education and common sense in managing our "sacred" lifestyle is the simplest way to reach the goal you propose, yet the most awesome and difficult to achieve, I fear.

When we reach that step, redesign will probably have followed all by itself. At least, I hope.|||It doesn't have to be over night process, but slow gradual. Things get redesign all the time, so it won't hurt if you take enviornment into a account when you redesign something. Eventually things could become 'environmentally friendly' gradually. Nobody said its fast quick fix, but gotta get started some where.|||Likely not, but we do have to considerate to the environment. We are sustaining 6 billion people on the earth...is it even possible? Not without keeping things a little cleaner.

Is the independent Gas Fitter (self employed) losing business to boiler care plans?

Every time I switch the TV on there's a ad for a care plan from British Gas, The AA and others. In fact when I tried to renew my household insurance I was offered a boiler care plan for 拢70 inc annual service. Independents surely can't compete with this small amount. As a newly qualified gas fitter I'm sure this is killing of the self employed gas engineers. Not sure if I should attempt to set up as self employed ?|||I will not pay the AA 拢109 a year for my boiler just in case it develops a fault. I would rather pay YOU a one off fee if it goes wrong. Most people feel the same.|||It is a difficult time as it is right now regardless of whether the large companies are taking away work with the service plans. Some of these firms mind you will be sub contracting out the work to reliable third parties with the exception of British Gas. Unless you already have a client base to feed off I would suggest going on the cards with a firm, have your own registration and develop customers by carrying out jobs outside of your employers working hours this way you can develop a customer base while still gaining a regular wage.|||We employ two or three Gas Safe engineers on a fairly regular basis (letting agency) but never use anyone that isn't gas safe. Most of our landlords are happy this way - they aren't keen on things like BG contracts at all.

Do I have to sign a new lease?

My landlord just sent me a new lease to sign to renew my rental and he raised the rent by 10% !!!

The thing is, he's been nearly delinquent on his end of the bargain. We have a whole long list of things that need to be fixed in this apartment that he has been ignoring despite our persistent requests.

Do I have to sign this new lease? What happens if I just continue to pay the old amount on rent? Can he kick me out?

I'm in NYC, if that makes any difference.|||You can either pay the rent or give your 30 day notice. You can not dictate the rental amount. He can legally raise it, the only way you can legally not pay it is to move elsewhere.|||You do not have to sign the new lease, but you will have to vacate the premises. You can't just continue to pay the old amount and expect to stay there. Without a lease, you are not a tenant, but are a squatter and trespassing. So, not only can he kick you out, he can have you arrested if you refuse to leave.|||You either give him 30 days notice and move out or try and negotiate a different contract with him.He might reason that he had to raise the rent to pay for the repairs that need to be done ;hence he cant repair anything without the extra income. He has the upper hand reguardless. If you dont pay he can kick you out.|||If they don't make the repairs within 30 days of your lease expiration date, i'd send them a certified letter stating you aren't going to renew your lease. you don't have to put up with a rent increase and then they won't make the repairs!|||If you don't sign the lease, he'll charge you even MORE for going month-to-month. Otherwise, you should either sign or start looking for a new place.

You CANNOT get by with paying the "old" amount.|||sure can but if they aren't fixing thingsyoushould move plan now and give the 30 days notice|||Find a new place with the ASAP.

Do I have to switch birth control pills?

I currently take Sprintec birth control pills. However I have to go get my yearly pap and get my prescription renewed, and since I no longer have medical insurance, I have decided based on my amount of money I am better off to go to Planned parenthood. I have never been there before and was wondering can I keep my Sprintec, or do they only use certain brands? Also do I get my pills at the clinic or at the pharmacy as I do now?|||A really good alternative to Planned parenthood is your local county health department. Often you can get your exams and pills free of charge. Either way, they keep their supply at their facility, so if they don't have your brand they will switch you to something compatible.|||i go to planned parenthood. and they have lots of different types of birth control to try from

And different forms to take it.

you should make an appointment and talk to them about it.

Notice to renew/appeal due to failed lawyer???

We went to court the other day in reference to my stepdaughter's child support order. My husband feels that our lawyer clearly screwed up our case by not listening to our needs. He brought a load of evidence (my husband) that should have probably been submitted, but our lawyer complained that it was too much information for the judge that it needed to be a simpler case than a bunch of numbers etc... So we are awaiting a decision in two weeks but my husband is pretty confident that it won't work in our favor and this judgment that she is asking for is an extremely excessive amount such that 1. we won't be able to pay it 2. my husband will basically be paying ALL expenses for his child plus thousands extra for some nice extra cash. His ex does not pay a dime towards his daughter b/c his payments cover everything right now including extra activities, private school etc.... She wants more. It's awful. Is there anything we can do to get this evidence in, reargue, or anything?|||Those unfamiliar with the system always try to submit useless information. The laws of support are pretty simple and I'm sure that the court had the info they needed or they would have asked for more. One shouldn't blame their attorney if they don't like the court's decision. Good luck--

Can I put my Optus IPhone contract on hold?

I'm going away to the UK for 2 years and don't want to pay my $80 a month contract. Can I put it on hold indefinitely? If only for a certain amount of time, can I keep renewing the hold?|||Hey Aitch,

If you're still under an Optus mobile contract unfortunately we can't put your account on hold :(

Another option is to see if a friend or family member can take up the contract whilst your away, or downgrade your rate plan so you have less ongoing monthly costs (this might include an initial change of rate plan fee).

If you'd like a hand with this you can send me your details here 鈫?http://bit.ly/OPTUS and I'll be in touch!

Hope this helps :)

What is trend for FDR interest rate over next 15 years (India)?

I have an option to take short term FDR (5 years) at today's (approx 7.5%) rate and to renew it again .

I can also invest in an LIC policy that gives me an annual (taxable) amount at 7.4% for my whole life and to my spouse after my death.

What is better as per expert opinion (FDR short term OR LIC long term)|||LIC is better for long term benefits because it gives bonus and other added benefits too.|||What is trend for FDR interest rate over next 15 years ?

Do I need to be currently in possession of a learner's permit to obtain my license? (Maryland)?

I have already obtained a learner's permit, completed Driver's Ed and reached the amount of hours I need to get my license, however, my learner's permit has expired. Do I need to renew my permit before I take the driver's test and go for my license, or can I go straight for the license?|||No,you can get it straight away..

My landlord demands that I have to pay $45,000 due to rise of cost of living increase. What should I do?

I have 8 year business lease with optional 5 years. I have been paying the rent($3,600) without any rent increase for that past 8 years. Rent for the term is $216,000 plust cost of living increase annually. For the last 8 years, my landlord has never notified me of any rent increase. But, now he demands that I have to pay $45,000, cost of living increase for the last 8 years, as a single payment. And he told me he will not renew my lease until I pay this amount in full. Least term ends in July, 2007. I am not able to pay this amount in full. What's my legal rights? What should I do? please help.|||that much monies involved plus potential loss of your space means get a lawyer to give you advice, need to read your lease compare it to state statute and give you an idea on what to do|||get yourself a lawyer, some one is trying to scam you|||Contact a lawyer. Because what is sounds like, you are supposed to pay the cost of living expense annually. If he did not tell you about it for the past 7 years (annually) then I dont think he can make you pay it.|||He is obviously trying to force you out to bring in somebody else willing to pay a higher rent. What he is doing is unreasonable but he is presumably the owner? Do you have a lawyer who can check the terms of the lease for you and advise you? In England a person in such a situation would visit Citizen's Advice Bureau or local Law Center (both free). I am sure there is something similar in American cities.|||First of all a lawyer is needed.

Second the language of your lease will tell you whether you agreed to allow him to charge you at any time for back due cost of living increases that he had not charged you for. If your lease does not allow him to go backwards on that charge but only on the new renewal date then you should tell him that you're sorry but no go.|||You are screwed. He can charge anything he wants for the place in any manner he wishes unless it is section 8 housing or subsidized housing or rent controled housing. Tough luck! I suggest you get ready to move!

Transfer IRA CD from an out of state bank to another institution?

I have an 18 month IRA CD that I renewed in March of this year. Can I transfer it to another institution without a penalty? I found one offering a much higher interest rate. I'd hate to have to wait until it matures! Also, is there anything else I could roll it over into before it matures without a penalty? It's not a small amount of money and I've really made a stupid mistake in renewing it.|||If this is a bank CD, you are going to have to pay whatever early withdrawal penalty you contracted for. Check your documents, as these penalties vary.

Otherwise, you are going to have to wait for it to mature.

Sorry.

How much more power does a high definition satellite receiver/tv use than a standard digital receiver/tv setup?

I am due to renew my DISHNET subscription next week and have been offered free HD tv for life ... I am concerned that HD receiver/television set will use significantly more electricity ... I have been unable to find any power usage data for my present setup or the HD ... I realize that different equipment uses different amounts of power so a ballpark percentage will answer my question ... many thanks!|||http://reviews.cnet.com/green-tech/tv-power-efficiency/|||HDTV does not necessarily use more power.

There will be no difference in the power your TV uses when fed an HDTV source instead of an SDTV source (the pixels don't care if they're changing in blocks or individually). If DishNet is making you purchase a replacement receiver box, then that shouldn't use significantly more electricity than the old one either.

In fact, if your present TV is a standard-definition CRT, and you are purchasing a new LCD HDTV to go with your HD service, then your new HDTV will use LESS power than your present TV!

Plasma TVs, however, do use a lot of energy. IMHO I would avoid them. The few advantages of plasma are rapidly being achieved by new LCD models.|||They will use significantly more power with larger screens and faster processors on the tv and receiver.

Balance out by saving energy with lights and not buying the cheapest models of LCD/Plasmas - they tend to be the juice vampires.

If you are arrested and held overnight, will you have to wear prison clothes?

This is a follow up to another question...If you are arrested for a suspended driving license which you forgot to renew and you are held overnight (or over the weekend if its friday - assuming the town does not have preset bail amounts so you cannot be released without first seeing a judge), will you have to wear prison clothes while you are in jail or will you wear what they arrested you in?

Also, when you go in front of the judge for setting the bail, will you wear the prison jumpsuit or your own clothes and will you be handcuffed/shackled?|||In Minnesota, yeah. I was in jail for a simple traffic violation once. I was arrested because I failed to appear in court, so I had a warrant. :( Lesson learned!

I had to wear the orange jumpsuit and shackles both while in jail and to the courthouse where I was handcuffed to the bench until court was out. Then I had to go back to the jail and wait to be released later that day.It wasn't cool. lol|||It would be depend on what locale you were arrested in. But, I can't imagine a small or even medium sized township investing money (especially with the way the economy is) in prison garb for a motor vehicle offender ...Can you? This has got to be a joke posting..|||You'll be wearing your own clothes. There is a difference between jail and prison.|||Last New Years Eve I was at a friends house and the cops came and broke-up are small party (there was only like 10 people) because neighbors complained about the noise... The cops knew that everyone had been drinking and most of us were underage, BUT the cops didn't care about that or the fact they had drunk drivers taking people home they made everyone (but the people who live in the house) leave...

We stopped at a gas station down the street from the house and the copse busted us ( my boyfriend %26amp; I were te only ones who got out of the car ) for being "drunk in public" and took only me %26amp; him to jail... We did not get finger-printed or mug shot, but we did ave to stay for 12 hours (lock-down) and had to strip down and wear orange jumpsuits. They really look like prison clothes. After the 12 hours we were let go, te simply gave us our stuff and sent us walking, me being drunk the night before had no shoes and was in a skimpy *** dress.. It was a fun Night? lol

So to answer your question, yes if you stay overnight you will have to wear the suits. We each ad our own "cell" but it was like a little concrete room with a real door with a 2 way mirror and a toilet and bunk beds, it didn't have bars like the movies.

Hope that helped.

The exfoliation can be a little intense when you're using the proactive solution. Are just starting this regimen? If you are, do what they say and only use it once a day.|||Was it severe? I already have Norton Anti-virus, but it seems to be "expired" so I am not sure if it is still protecting my computer from parasites. And in order to renew the program, I have to pay some amount.. and that is just a no-no.

I recently renewed my O2 contract to a Smart-phone 18 month 拢35. What are the rules as to what to cover when asked your contents value? dont know where to start!?

renewing house insurance in a week and want to look around for cheaper quote. haven't updated it since we bought the house and obviously have a load to add but not sure how that works?where do i start and what do i include? do i have to get things valued?have receipts?

please can anyone help as it really helps to be paying the right amount but the best amount in these times!|||Most insurers will now quote on the number of bedrooms and give cover accordingly. Typically a 4 bed house will have cover of approx. 拢40,000 - $50,000.

You will however need receipts (but not have to send them to the insurer except in the event of a claim) for specified items (i.e. expensive jewellery or those items covered under "all risks" which would be covered out of the house. It's always useful to keep receipts of expensive things anyway to prove that you bought them.

Other optional sections will include bicycles, deep freezers and their contents, electronic gizmos such as laptops mobile phones etc. Again it is useful to have receipts in case of a claim.|||You'll be offered insurance based on a fixed amount for contents (say 拢40,000) If you think that that will not be enough to cover your contents in the event of a total loss then have it changed to a figure that you consider adequate.

You also get the chance to insure expensive items (e.g. diamond ring, top of range item etc) separately, that is where you have to arrange the value of each item and have documentation to prove it (valuation certificates etc)|||The amount of coverage you need on your home depends on building costs in your area. And, the contents coverage is automatically 75% of the building amount.

The agent should be able to come up with the figures for you. If not, you should find another agent.|||When I did mine, I didn't want to overvalue - pay for higher premium than necessary, and vice versa.

I went on moneysavingexpert and it was recommended to use this site, it was great to calculate the value of contents and things you wouldn't think of:

www.hiscox.co.uk/calculator/|||Assuming you're in the US...

Your Dwelling (Coverage A) is the amount to REBUILD your home if it's a total loss. So, don't think of the selling price, but the actual amount to rebuild your house. Generally, the insurance company will come up with an amount, so make sure that's adequate or not much more than you'd think it'd cost to rebuild.

Other Structures (Coverage B) covers barns, sheds, fences, pools, detached garages, and other structures that are detached from the house. Again, they'll come up with an amount, just use your own judgment. If you do have a fence, and your neighbor shares/benefits any side of it, the insurance company will only pay you half of the amount to fix that side, as most states have laws stating the fences are co-owned.

Contents (Coverage C) will be another recommended amount. You'll want to think about how much it will cost to replace ALL the items in your home (furniture, electronics, knick knacks, beds, clothes, cabinets, appliances, etc). I went to that UK website and they recommended $80,000 for my house and it's just me, and I only have a couple pieces of new furniture and the rest were "hand-me downs" so to speak. I think that's a little too much...again, you just have to use your judgment. Now, if you have anything valuable, such as jewelry or other antiques, you can insure those for a specific amount...you'll want to let the company or your agent know about that and they'll instruct you to get a receipt or an appraisal done on them to support the value.

Hopefully this helps!

Im active military and need dl info?

Im stationed in florida and am a ca resident. My dl is expired and i remember reading something about active duty military didnt have to renew for a certain amount of time. Am i mistaken?|||http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/ca_dl.ht鈥?/a>

Here is what the DMV in Cali says about it straight out of the DMV handbook along with a 1-800 number to call to get some kind of extension card. Also if you happen to be Navy and an Airdale check out the opnav 4790 it used to have a list of all of the states had military clauses concerning DL's. I don't remember what chapter though, QA should be able to help (I retired in 03 so I'm sure it has been revised a few more times I think we were up to the 4790.2h when I retired.)|||Yes you are mistaken.

Since you let your licence expore instead of renewing it before it expired you have to start all over again. Best bet it to get a new one in Fl.|||Yes. You need to renew your license. Write to your state's dmv. They usually allow you to renew through the mail, but it might be easier to get your license in fl

Should US drivers be required to take the driving exam every 4 years when renewing their license?

With the huge amount of traffic accidents, should it be mandatory to take a driving exam when renewing your license? Not the driving exam taken to get the license, but a new test geared towards maintaining safe drivers.|||No.

The cost is not worth the benefit. Right now, in most states, license renewal is required every 3-5 years. With the current DMV facilities, it usually takes about an hour or more of a persons time to renew their license. (50 minutes waiting, 10 minutes actually doing something)

If you add a driving test every four years, you would need to spend the whole day there, and tax dollars would have to be spent to add people to give the test. The physical DMV offices would also have to be increased in size.

Most states have a point system that will cause the worst drivers to lose their licenses. Good drivers should not be penalized by requiring them to take tests!|||only if they are old|||I think it should be mandatory after the age of 60. I don't want to pick on older folks but there are alot of old people out there driving that have no business being on the road. It's going to continue getting worse with the ageing of America.|||No because the DMV's are already crowded enough.|||Oh yes. Especially to women and old drivers. I'm a woman btw, but I cannot stand their indecisivness. I nearly had an accident with a broad that didn't see me go in front of here AT A SAFE DISTANCE. I was even honked...

What should also happen, is for the US to require defensive driving while learning how to drive aka how to drive on snow, ice, during a torrent, wild manuvering, handling of the car when you're out of control... The majority of states do not require this. I know Ohio does.|||Yes, people suck at driving so bad it blows my mind. It is one of the simplest things on earth and yet people get all freaked out and slam on their brakes all the time for no reason.

Are resources such as roads and footpaths considered sustainable?

Sustainable: The rate of use of a resource is such that the amounts taken will not affect the resource's ability to renew itself, and the same rate of productivity can be maintained in the future.|||Structures, constructed features, are not resources. They often (usually) are made from resources, but are not a resource of themselves.

A footpath doesn't require any resources, it just requires use to maintain itself. Roads are made using resources, like sand, gravel, and petroleum (asphalt) or limestone (concrete). I doubt very much that the use of any of these materials for road construction would be non-sustainable if used for that purpose only.

It's awful. Is there anything we can do to get this evidence in, reargue, or anything?|||All of this would really depend ont he state you are in. Most courts do not care about "evidence" in child support hearings. They take the numbers in to account and that is pretty much it. They take the Mom's income and the father's income and put it to a formula that is pretty standard for that State. If there are orders to have to pay for extra things like private school or extra curricular activities then those things are extras that the judge may or may not allow. medical and dental expenses are usually addressed as well. The Lawyer is right in that a lot of wordy "evidence" might hurt you more than it would help. Most people paying child support rarely say that they will pay whatever it takes to take good care of their children. Most argue at how much they should not have to pay. This looks sniveling and selfish and very self absorbed. The lawyer is right to tell you to keep it to a minimum becuase it might look like your husband is not interrested in what is best for the child, but what is best for him. If the ruling is not favorable, most states have a time period you must wait to re-visit the subject to try to get it changed. Some make you wait 6-18 months depending on the sate, and in some there has to be a change of financial circumstance. Some it is automatically revisited in 18 months. You should check on that as well. But the real deal is that your lawyer should be trusted to do what you paid him to do. He has done this many times and should have the expertise to get you through this. If not, you can hire someone else in the future. Fair is not always easy. Sometimes what judges rule is not always fair to one paent or the other....they try to see it from the child's point of view and what is for their best interrest. Try not to see this as a punishment, but an opportunity to put that irl first. She needs to be first. GOOD LUCK!

Is renewing vows the dumbest act a couple can do ?

I would never have a second wedding day to renew vows. Whoever thought of this waste of time, money, and energy ? I cannot believe the number of couples that go through basically what amounts to a second wedding day. The dress, tuxedo, church ceremony, the expense and the stress of a vow renewal ? The only people that benefit are the businesses that cater to weddings. I would NEVER go through this circus for a second time.....!|||Franco i never understood this either ?

If you are still together

Why feel the need to do it again

The mere fact that you are a couple say,s it all ?

I said till death us do part 30 years ago

Why should i tell him again ?|||Well, I don't look at it from the financial perspective you do, but I think they are a bit silly.

It's not for everyone. Mostly couples do this type of thing after they have been through a horrendous time in their marriage and almost had a divorce but pulled through and are leading a much healthier marital life. It is a symbol of their success.

My husband actually wants to do one, but I am not comfortable with the idea, I think ti is too cheesy personally.|||hahahaha, You made me laugh. I see what you mean. I think it has more to do with the vows, not so much the big wedding scene, at least the re-news I've been to are very small and just very close friends and family, more like a anniversary party.|||I find it pointless...marriage isn't a cell phone contract that you renew every so often....it's valid forever....never expires...|||No, getting divorced and then renewing your vows is the dumbest act!|||no, there actually are dumber things. but it is probably cheaper than divorce|||People that are not broke like you may feel different!!!! My tenants lease expired 2 years ago, what rights do i have as a landlord to evict in california?

my tenant signed a one year lease over 2 years ago. I never renewed the lease because the tenant never pays on time, nor the full amount. The house is up for sale and tenant makes it impossible for any prospective buyer inside to see it. Tenant has done damage to the house and insists it's my responsibility to fix his damages. I want him out! He has taken advantage of me and my widowhood for almnost 3 years,,,, help!|||I dont know why you didnt give him 30 days notice at the end of the lease. If he is always late with rent payments, you also can get a court order to evict him. What is holding that up? The tenant must let a prospective buyer in as long as you post a 24-hour notice on the door. All you need do is open the door yourself and show it to a buyer. The tenant need not be there if you have posted notice. I dont understand why you havent gotten rid of him before.|||Its a month to month lease if no new lease was ever made. Call police and start eviction procedures. It should also require at least one certified signature required letter of there month to month lease is over and to vacate the property. Have police make report during and eviction stating damage seen to property so you can sue for later.|||In most States, if a lease has expired then the tenant is on a 'monthly basis',

and you can evict on 30 Days notice.

The local sheriff can advise you on procedure.

it always starts with serving notice though.|||Hi Lorna, It's Florence. Call me. If the tenants have lvied there for over 12 months, you need to serve them a 60 day notice. You can go to expressevictions.com. They are a very helpful webiste.|||See Judge Judy...take photos

Change the locks, when the tenant is out.

Smash the toilet, they cant use it, they will move out.

In CA, is it legal to evict a family if they are expecting a baby?

We are looking into renting an apartment. The lease is for one year and it states that only a certain amount of people can live in the apartment.

What happens though, if after the lease is renewed for another year, the wife gets pregnant?

Can the landlord evict the family once he knows that she is expecting?

Thanks!|||The baby will have no legal percussions on an eviction at all.

The landlord can not evict because of the baby. However, he can not rent to you once the baby is 12 months old.|||yes.|||No one can evict while she is pregnant as legally there's been no change in the number of tenants.

The lease clause is designed to prevent lots of people cramming into an apartment, no landlord will mind if a baby comes. Relax..|||I don't think any landlord will evict the family that adds one child to the apartment, but they may have an issue with putting two or more children into a one-bedroom apartment. However, when the lease comes up for renewal, he may choose not to renew.|||Yes. Certificate of occupancy limits the number of people living in a unit. If that CofO is violated, it can be pulled and everyone in the building evicted. So once you add a 3rd person to a studio or 1 BR, you're out.

If you want to have a baby, get a two-bedroom apartment. If you cannot afford it, you cannot afford a baby, so wait until you are more financially secure. You wouldn't want your baby to do without anyway - you want the best for your baby, so plan in advance to provide for all the love, care, attention and housing space it is going to need.|||Ca. land lord speaking: The courts have ruled that an infant may not be counted as a person until the infant reaches the age it needs it's own bedroom. The courts defined that age as when the infant becomes mobile and is crawling all over the place.

Once you have a Rug Rat, you need to find a larger place to live. Usually, most people will want to find a larger place to live before the infant causes an eviction.

Can Expired Debit card be used for on-line shopping?

My debit card has expired with respect to time. I have still balance amount in the Account. I do not want to renew the card. Just i want to spend money from the account. Can Expired Debit card used for on-line shopping?|||You have a bigger problem.

If you didn't get a new card over the mail, that means that someone out there has a new debit card and may be using it

Why don't you call the bank and find out where your new debit card went?|||This doesn't make sense. If the account is still active, why would you not want a new card? Your expired card is worthless as any transaction will be declined.|||No - that's why it has an expiry date on it.

Annual cost in US dollars for continuing education for Physical, Occupational Therapists, Athletic Trainers?

I am looking for links to determine the amount of US dollars spent annually on continuing education (annual education required to renew license) by the following groups of professionals:

1. Physical Therapists

2. Physical Therapist Assistants

3. Athletic Trainers

4. Occupational Therapists

5. Occupational Therapist Assistants|||i do not know if there is an actual cost. Some people just naturally go to more than others. Not all states have requirements. I spend about 2,000 a year. I know people who spend about 100. I try to go to 2-3 weekend courses a year. They are between 400-600 a weekend plus travel ect. My employer remiburses a small amount.|||it all depends, most places of employment for these professions get reimbursed for attending these continuing ed courses.

Is it better to just pay a collection for an old account?

I was looking at my report and I had a delinquent account from collection company that "renewed" an account from an old cell phone company I had. Its for $900 some dollars and I had disputed this amount with the company back then and was left unresolved, this was back in 2001. Well now its renewed as a collection with a renewed date of 2007. Should I just go ahead and pay this off? or should I contact the collecting company and request that they stop reporting to the credit companies?|||The statute of limitations for suing you has probably past. I would send in a new dispute.|||i would say yes, but i didn't on the fact, they were just wrong. but it's better to pay|||Any collection company is going to report this to credit companies no matter what. They are ruthless and often make money off cases like this so they will take it to any level they want to. I would pay it off. I've been in this position before, and what the collection companies will do is take you to court for the money. If at that point you still don't pay them or show up in court, they will garnish your wages or bank account and it will be more of a mess than before.

What you can do is call the collection company and work out a payment plan with them. They will want a portion of it up-front, but after that they'll work out a monthly payment.

Paying it off will make sure that it will look better on your credit. The fact that it went to collections might still show up on your credit report, but it will show that you paid it as well which always looks better than a judgment that you failed to pay.|||check the statute of limitations in your state. if its beyond statutes send them a letter.also dispute it with all 3 cras. btw. it is illegal to reage old debt. threaten to sue them.

Also, don't assume that should you have to sue for breach you will ever actually get your attorney's costs covered, even though you have them sign that. Not saying you can't, but it won't always work.

Other than that, it looks good, and a wise idea to have them sign. Make sure they read it and understand it, and provide them with a signed copy as well.|||Looks fine to me, but completely unnecessary. While your friend is right, my experience has been that trying to sign things like this just causes tension and makes roommates suspicious of each other. Most of these things are already assumed by default, so there is no need to sign a separate contract. As long as you both sign the lease, you should be fine.

I just got an expired registration citation. Anyway to reduce/dismiss it?

I am from Vegas. I got pulled over for an expired registration (expired by 20 days) and was slapped with $400! My license and insurance were fine. This is my first offense. I'll renew my registration tomorrow. Really, I simply forgot, what with moving houses and registering for classes at the univ. Is there any way I can reduce or better, dismiss this crazy amount!! Thanks for your time.|||Sorry,There is no way they will dismiss it. This is one way the state and county make money. It was 100% your own fault. Live with your mistake and pay the fine. It's your responsibility as a driver to pay on time. There are MILLIONS of Americans that pay on time.|||Probably not since it was expired by 20 days. You can appear in court, show that you did renew although late, and see what the judge says of course.

But really, how many time did you look at the plate and not notice it was expired?

Question about legality of charging different rent rates to tenants?

OK, I have lived in an apt. for 6 months, and it is time for me to renew my lease. The apartment complex recently lowed there rent by 100 bucks/month. Naturally, when I went in to renew, asking if i would be

charged the new rate, they said no, and said the new rate was only for new tenants. Can they legally do this? Am I entitled to the lower amount as well?|||There are no laws requiring that rent ever be lowered, nor are there laws requiring every apartment to have the same rental amount.|||They can charge you any rate they desire. You are not entitled to a matching rate because of their new tenant offer. Your choice is to accept what they offer or move elsewhere (perhaps where they are offering a lower rate to new tenants.)|||No, you are not entitled to the lower rent. The apartment community has every right to offer specials for new tenants. |||Yes, the complex can charge new tenants less than existing tenants. Concessions for new move-ins are common.

They're betting that you won't go through the hassle and expense of moving. However, $100/mo is significant. You should consider giving your move-out notice and finding a move-in deal somewhere else. If they value your residency and don't want another vacancy, they may cave and offer you deal. |||Absolutely legal and legitimate for LL to charge different tenants different rent rates. Many variables. No right to lower rent, you have right to move out. However, LL should be willing to negotiate with you, IF you've been a good tenant with good payment record. Maybe you can split the decrease? Talk to manager, not just first person on phone, be polite, businesslike, and request that you be able to renew your lease at new, lower rate. Listen to them. It's to their advantage to keep a good tenant and to avoid the wear and tear of moving you out and another in. BUT it is NOT your right, so be polite, positive, friendly. And make up your mind ahead of time whether you'll stay or move if you don't get any decrease. Many places give rental incentives to new tenants, to get them in the place, particularly if rental market is not good.|||Yes they can.

I won a small claims case June 2003-with no money yet received. Do I need to "renew my case by this June?

I won the maximum award amount, and still want to pursue the individual who owes me. Does the small claims "expire" in three years? What exactly do I need to do so the whole thing doesn't go away into thin air?|||Well...after reading your remarks...I think you have stated everything there is to state. Quite frankly, it doesn't look like you're going to get anything. If he has no property, real or personal, you can not force a sale. If he works, but gets paid "under the table" you can't intercept his tax refund. I would not wast the filing fee to start over, because it doesn't look like you're getting anything.|||Small claims courts do not collect debts. They are finished with the matter and it is up to you to collect the judgment.

Generally, you do that following whatever procedures that apply in your state to the collection of debt.

The court is not going to collect the debt for you.|||it depends on where you live. In California, for instance, a judgmeent is good for 10 years. Check your state for how long a judgment is valid. I suspect it will not expire in three years.

Your problem seems to be one of enforcement. There are often options for collecting a judgment. If the other person owns property, you can file a lien against it after recording the judgment in the county recorder's office. Otherwise, go to a bookstore and book up a book on debt collection. There should be plenty of information there to tell you how to perfect a judgment and execute it.|||How much of a time did the judge give the payer to pay you the money if they exceeded the time frame then I would bring that person back to court

How illegal is it to drive with an expired license?

I have a New York drivers license but I am stationed in Washington... recently I turned 21 and my license expired... is there a certain amount of days they allow you to get it renewed or am I automatically penolized... and if so what is the penalty?|||Why is your freedom to drive the car you bought on the roads your taxes paid for subject to licensure? It seems to me that you need no license to use what already is yours, and it looks as if the government is trying to extort money from us through this licensure, as well as through vehicle registration, also by mandatory insurance, not to mention mandatory annual vehicle inspections for which you much purchase and attach proof upon your car. Likewise, you pay further taxes when you buy fuel for your car. And when you bought your car you paid a sales tax. And every year you must pay again the property tax upon that car.

When a government declares that licensure is "necessary," should you necessarily believe them? When a government claims that it "needs" you to do something, does that mean that you must do it? Part of being a free person is understanding that the answers to both of those questions is NO.

You get the idea, already, don't you? Driving a car is a bucket with so many tax-holes in it that it's a wonder we have any money left over. The government is putting the squeeze on us, forcing us to work for them instead of them working for us. The government is showing us that government is boss, people are slaves. The drivers' license is one of the clearest ways in which this condition of life is communicated.|||You will be ticketed for driving on an expired license if you are pulled over. I am not sure exactly what the fine is for Washington, however that's why God created Google. No there is no "grace" period for getting your license renewed. You have known for four years that your license will expire when it does or has. It is the task of ANY responsible driver to keep up with these things. |||Stationed in Washington - are you military? Some states allow your license to remain in effect while you're active duty. Of course it isn't considered valid as an ID, though but no penalty. How long ago did it expire? Call your state as soon as they open and get it taken care of. You may have to file new paperwork. |||The amount of time allowed to renew your license would depend on the issuing state. (Check your states web site, or DMV book.) You should have gotten a renewal notice in the mail. Get to a local office or renew it in your own state pronto--take the day off to do it if need be-- they can be easy on you or harsh.

It could mean a suspended license!|||If had a N.Y.S driver lisence for over 15years and have been through it all. They'll suspend you and you'll just have to renew it and pay a $25 dollars suspension removal fee. But you'ld definately get locked up depending on the cop in either state. Good luck!!!|||see if you can get it renewed by mail. I just renewed mine which expired on Saturday, but was spared the late fee because the offices aren't open on saturday. I'd get it done as soon as you possibly can.|||illegal is illegal.

but in washington you'll be taken to jail.

you can be fined.

get one asap.

|||Not automatically penalized. But do get one in WA, or you'll be arrested for driving without a license.||| Real Illegal.|||Are you in DC or in Washington? In the state of Washington they can take you to jail.|||You could get ur license suspended|||yes it illegal fine is harsh 550 -2000 dollar yike just don't do it

Is This Normal While Using Pro Activ?

i massaged a dime sized amount of the renewing cleanser on my face for about one min and a half and i got this tingly-numb sensation on my face after i washed it off....is this normal?|||Pro-active is crap... my daughter used it for about 2 years, and her acne never left her face. I finally took her to a dermotalogist, and we put her on Acutane. It works wonders in two month, and the acne never came back. Pro-active is for people with minor acne, or close to no acne I'd say. All others, don't waste your money and go see a Dermo. Health Insurance covers the cost for the doctor, but not for Pro-active. So don't waist time and money.|||YES THIS IS NORMAL THE FIRST FEW DAYS THAT U USE IT IT FEELS LIKE THAT BUT U DONT HAVE 2 LIEVE IT ON 4 A MIN OR MORE U CAN JUST WASH IT OFF RIGHT AWAY BUT YEAH ITS NORMAL!|||Yes it is normal and even with regular face exfoliator washing.

Can my eye doctor tell if i have been wearing my contacts too much?

I know I wear my contacts too long during the day usually about 16 or 17 hours. I don't sleep in them or wear one pair longer than I should. I have an appointment on wednesday to get my prescription renewed. I have been trying to reduce the amount of time I wear them. If I only wear them a few hours today and not at all tomorrow will he be able to tell?|||sometimes yes, sometimes no. depends on how long you've been doing it as well as your individual body's response to doing that.

i have patients who i can INSTANTLY tell, and i have others who i wouldnt know unless they told me|||I don't think you're doing anything wrong. You should be able to wear your contacts from the time you get up until you go to bed.

If you're not sleeping in them, or going too long between replacement intervals, and you're cleaning and disinfecting them properly, then you're in good shape.

Having said that, some people cannot wear contacts all day. If you've previously had problems, and been instructed by your doctor to cut down wearing time, then you should.

Otherwise, you should be good. I routinely wear my lenses 16 hours per day, and there is nothing wrong with that.|||i used to wear mine all day and all night for weeks at a time, and now every time i see a new dr they always ask if i sleep in my contacts bc of the number of veins in my eyes from lack of oxygen. so i guess it depends on to what extent you wear them too much and if your eye is getting enough oxygen. my contacts are toric so they dont allow as much oxygen to get through to the eye. I think a good idea are the throw away contacts the daily lenses, just toss them at night and put a new pair in in the morning.|||Trying to hide things from your doctor is a really bad idea. He can't give you the proper treatments if you lie to him.|||no he would be able to if the moisture was gone from the contacts otherwise no , or just say you went swimming and they came out and you lost them|||I know people who wear contacts for days :)

I was denied unemployment benefits for the state of IL. How do appeal process work. I was fired 8-06?

I was fired 8-6-06. The job required valid driver lic and insurance.

My lic was revoked for parking tickets which enable me to get car insurance.I was required to use my own auto.I enter into a ayment

plan for the tickets .I moved and put in change of address but never received anything from the dmv regarding the revocation

I didnt realize about the lic because I was able to get my insurance for this year but when I got ready to renew with a diffrent company they notified my employer about about the license. The employer gave me 5 days to show valid insurance and license but with the amount of parking tickets I needed more time. Per unemployment I was aware of this policy and denied.|||Apply again and they might have a hearing. If that doesn't work, try to contact a Congressman or lawyer. But the best is PAY for your outstanding tickets and BEHAVE. Good luck!|||no problem come and live in the uk|||yo mack daddy go see mack donald

How about this theory : You should eat more food at dinner because when you sleep your body renews cells, etc?

I have a japanese co-worker who only has a cup of green tea in the morning. For lunch, he eats moderate amount of food but in the evening..whoa..he really eats a lot. He said, in Japan, people eat more in the evening because when you sleep your body fixes/renews cells/tissues, etc. I'd love to try this. But what do you think? Any experience? He's incredibly fit and in ideal weight.|||It is a poor plan. You need some calories in the morning to kick start both your metabolism and your brain, Some calories at lunchtime to sustain you through the day and a modest evening meal. It is no accident that all over the world humans eat 3 times a day.|||Sorry but all that does is allow your body to become a VERY efficient FAT MAKING MACHINE because in order too function fully the body needs to work and that is why we need to get energy from our food or like a car which is never run or tuned it will fur up and rust. If you then begin to add weight the engine begins to labour and the car stops permanently, in the body this means the heart stops - OK? (you cannot see what is happening inside your friends body but if he is not furring up his arteries then he is a lucky man but no way indicative of the Japanese norm)So Petal rest eat well and healthily exercise feel tired rest and start to recharge ready for the next day and may you have a long useful and very happy life

Dot|||It depends on your metabolism.|||That's what most of us in America do. Doesn't work. Your body is trying to digest food all night and with no exercise during that 8 hrs, it can't. We take fat to bed with us and that's why it piles on. You should not eat anything 3-4 hours before going to bed to avoid that. That means no late night snacks, either. Tell your friend. The body is regenerating at night, but fat cells are growing.

You have to remember Japanese are naturally skinny from hundreds of years of eating right. They eat light and right, and walk more than we do. Tradition has served them well... until McDonalds started taking over the earth.|||I think that it really does work. I've experienced that same eating schedule, or at least something similar to it, and it does work. You just can over indulge yourself with the wrong foods. Remember - Calories in, calories out.

What if my permit expires in Missouri?

I live in Missouri and my permit expired. I am not ready to take the driver's test yet. Do I have a certain amount of days to get it renewed, or will I have to take the test again?|||Funny how so many people post these questions...when you were perfectly aware of when your permit expired.

I sincerely hope you're not still driving around, hoping no one notices.

In either case, you may have to take it again. Primarily, because if you didn't care about the permit enough to not let it expire...how do they know that you care about driving?

What are the penalties of driving around with expired registration?

My cars registration expired in January and it is now February. I tried getting it renewed and found out i owe the state money. The amount i owe is alot and honestly i don't have the money to give the full amount so do you think its possible to make some sort of an arrangement to pay half? And what are the penalties of driving around with an expired registration?|||If your pulled over the car will be towed you will receive a fine 100 in mass not sure were u are but theres also the tow fee and impound fee.|||The ticket and resulting fine, for driving with expired registration varies from state to state but it isn't cheap no matter where you are.|||my neighbor was driving around on a expired registration and wrecked into a 14 wheeler.

Where do I go when automobile insurance won't be renewed?

My wife was involved in 3 small accidents, in the space of 14 months. Total damages amounted to approximately 5,000 dollars. The company has chosen not to renew her insurance. We live in Michigan, and we had been covered by State Farm. These were the first claims that we made in 14 years with the company. Is there an insurance company that would likely accept us as customers? Is there a specific company here in Michigan that you would suggest? We live up north, near West Branch. Thank you.|||Well I don't know if you have AAA Insurance there, but here on the west coast there great. I had farmers when my son got in a accident totaling 15,000 damages, there way of getting rid of you was to raise my rates to over $1000.00 a MONTH. So don't try them. Search for insurance quotes online. My son has a off the wall company called western united and his rates are $80 a month now. So you may want to try a company that's not popular to get better rates. Good Luck|||http://carquotes.50webs.com - try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.

|||I would take the time to visit the official website of Michigan. Then, locate the Insurance Commissioner and do some checking of "high risk" insurers. Most states have a "pool' of insurance companies that have agreed to take cases like your wife's. Also called Assigned Risk.

In doing checking for this response, I came across the following news report - In Calif. we may soon be paying for insurance by the mile:

If just a third of California's licensed motorists switched to the plan, it would be the equivalent of taking 10 million automobiles off the road, Assemblyman Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) said. Huffman's sponsorship of a pay-as-you-drive bill in the Legislature prompted Poizner to come up with his regulations.

"I am thrilled to pave the way for California drivers to obtain insurance that is more environmentally friendly and more accurately reflects driving habits," Poizner said at a Sacramento news conference. "As a strong advocate of healthy market competition and a healthy environment, I am especially pleased to encourage this kind of innovation and additional options for consumers."

Most major insurance companies said they were interested in offering pay-as-you-drive pricing to their customers.|||Dozens of companies out there will cover you but you can forget about those good rates and first class claims service for about four years. Just start calling right now -- GEICO, Esurance, Progressive, etc., all have 24/7 sales staff.|||There are a number of insurance companies who will insure you. However, with 3 claims in 14 months, it's going to cost you more.

Should I make a auto insurance claim?

I just recently got into a car accident. I ran into one of my neighbors Tow truck. It was the kind of Tow truck that has the long bed. The front middle to passenger side of my civic is completely dented in and destroyed. There is no motor/mechanical damage. Only body damage. The damage is pretty bad. I do have some knowledge with cars and I definitely know that the cost of repairing the car will be more than the actual value of the car. Its a 98 Civic Ex with about 131,000 miles and in good condition. My question is whether I should file a claim through insurance or not? If I do file through the insurance, I would most likely get a big fat check in the amount of $2,000 to $5000 based on the fact that they will say its totaled, but that would most likely raise my insurance when I renew it. I could use this money to buy another car. Or I could just not report it and buy another car. But that would mean I would send my car to the junk yard for and get very little money for it. HELP!|||Don't forget about your deductible. What is it? $500? $1000?

That comes off first. So, if you think you will only get $2000 for the car minus the deductible, it may not be worth the increase in your premiums that you will pay over the next few years.

I agree that you want to get your money's worth out of your insurance policy, but if you end up paying more than you get in the long run you fall behind. Something to think about.|||report it. you'll get a better deal|||Report the claim. 1. since your car is a total loss and you have full coverage you can be paid for the damage to your vehicle. 2. if there was damage to the tow truck your liability coverage will handle that.|||heck i got a 99 corrolla with 160,000 on it. just file the came and take the money. i know how you feel, but do it. we pay into insurance thousands of dollars over our lives. go get your check.|||each time U use your insurance it cost u more to keep the insurance So it may be cheaper for you fix it your self.|||Hi:This Depends If You Want Your Insurance To Go Up.You Could File The Claim,Get The Check And Most Insurance Companies Give You The Option Of Giving Them The Car Or Keeping It.If You Decide To Keep It,They Usually Knock Some Off The Settlement..Check With Your Insurance Company.Hope This Helps.Later.|||REPORT IT.

My driving license had been suspended because of an dissatisfaction judgment,WHAT I can do?

I had a car accidant in2007,the smale claims court ordered me to bay a certain amount of money, my auto insurance compeny had agreed to pay in full but they cant find the deifendent in his leagel address ,the court suspended my license ,I don't know what to do to renew my license???|||You need to talk to your adjuster. Likely, they'll have to escrow the money to an attorney for the state, or the DA's office, before you can get your license reinstated.

How much time does a landlord have to give to tell you that they are not going to renew your lease?

My lease is ending at the end of this month (April 2009). About a week and a half ago, my landlord called and asked if I wanted to renew my lease and I said yes. I had not received it yet. A few days later I told her about a clog that we had in the bathroom.

She called a plumber. When I came home from work the day that the plumber came, the basement was a complete mess. There were buckets of poop and baby wipes down there, puddles of poopy water, and there was poop on the wall and our freezer. And the clog problem was not fixed. I called the landlord to ask if the plumber was going to come back and she said he was not going to come back until the next day. She said that he left the buckets down there so that we could see what was clogging the toilet. She didn't even care that it was totally unsanitary or that it made the house smell like a barn.

She started freaking out about the baby wipes and how we should not flush tampons and condoms down the toilet. I told her we did not flush any plastic stuff down the toilet and that we didn't know that the wipes would be a problem. She started strongly implying that she wanted us to pay for the plumbing services because of how "expensive" it was going to be. I don't know how expensive it is, but she said it was going to be really expensive and "what do you have to say to that?" She kept repeating herself so I handed the phone to by boyfriend so that I didn't end up telling her off or say anything stupid.

She started lecturing by boyfriend too. She then made the comment that "maybe you should find another place to live." We never have had any other problems with these landlords. We have never caused any damage or any other issues. We have always paid on time and even sent holiday cards. We have been really nice to these people and have been patient with them even when they didn't fullfill some of their duties.

Can she really tell us that we have to move when we only have 3 weeks left on our lease? We are not prepared to move and really do not have enough time to find a place, get the money together, and make all the arrangements and take all the time to move in this amount of time. Do you think that she was just over reacting to the situation? Do we have any rights to stay there any additional time if she wants us to move because 3 weeks is not enough time to give notice that you have to move, especially since 10 days ago, she was asking about the renewal of the lease.

What should I say or do so that I do not have to go thru the aggrivation of moving right now?|||If the professional plumber states that the baby wipes caused the clog...you will be responsible for the repairs.

As far as a notice to vacate. Most states require the landlord to give a 30 day notice.

If you really don't want to move, call the landlord and make arrangements to pay for the repair/damages.|||The repairs are going to be 3-5k, depending on the size of the house and if you flushed these down multiple toilets. It could be worse then that. Nothing other then TP and bodily waste should be flashed down a toilet, not only because the pipes are not designed to handle insoluble items, but neither is the water treatment center where the water from the sewer ends up.

She has to give you 30 days, you can leave the week after your lease expires.|||Well not sure where you live but I am thinking that no matter where 3 weeks cannot be enough time...usually it is within 30 - 60 days and I would assume she would have to provide you with a letter or document of some sort stating that the lease will not be renewed.|||Please tell me that you are kidding ...

It does not matter whether you thought that flushing baby wipes would be a problem - it is a problem.

You caused the clog. The landlord has proof and a witness that you caused the clog. She let the plumber leave the buckets so that you could see, first hand, the damage you caused and the mess that you made. Nobody (even plumbers) wants to have to deal with other peoples' human waste ... it's gross.

A plumbing clog is damage and you are responsible to pay for the cost to repair any damage caused by you.

The majority of wipes are NOT flush able and it states so on the back of the box - some even have pictures showing that wipes should not be placed in a toilet. Sanitary napkins, tampons, condoms and a multitude of other items are not safe to flush down the toilet.

Toilets are for human waste and toilet paper only!

Being nice, sending holiday cards, paying rent in time have nothing to do with this. The landlord did not overreact because you are obviously under the belief that you should not have to pay for the plumbing services.

You owe for the repair. Pay up because the landlord can sue you and win a judgment against you for the cost of the plumbing services.

The fact that your lease is up and the landlord does not have to renew leaves you with no choice in the matter. Once given the proper notice, you are going to have to vacate.

Should I renew my termite contract? It sounds expensive!?

My home is 5 years old and the termite contract was up in May. The local company that I had the 5-year contract with wants up to $1,400 for a renewal contract, in addition to $100 a year. This seems steep, but other national brands, like Ortho, have told me from the start that their price will be more. Should I bother renewing? I live around Charlotte, and there does not appear to be any termite issues in my crawlspace. I don't plan on being in the house for much more than another 2-3 years. I don't want to be taken for a ride, either, and I'm trying to educate myself more on this matter. That's not a small amount of money!|||In that part of the country, there are two types of homes: Those that have termites and those that will have termites. It's your call, but having spend big $$$ repairing hidden termite damage myself, I'll keep my contract.

Hint: An up-to-date termite contract can be a big plus at sale time.|||TFTP

|||I would not. Especially if you are leaving.|||You said yourself that you don't see any termite issues, so I wouldn't renew the contract-- especially since you'll be leaving.|||dont take a chance. renew the contract and transfer the contract to the new owner when u sell. what if when the new buyers come and get a home inspection on ur house and damage shows up? wont u feel stupid for not renewing ur contract?|||Usually not worth it. You can spray it yourself several times a year with Ortho ant and termite spray. Just buy a sprayer (pump) at Home Depot. The quote must be for a regular treatment plan.

The plans usually don't cover carpenter ants which are more common in your locale.

Having a one-time injection treatment every five years is worthwhile--not the followup plans.

Can the car insurance company make me pay the higher amount?

I bought new car insurance for $1000/yr a few weeks ago. I filled out all the paper work and have to make my first payment for the next three months in a week. Yesterday they told me they made a mistake and that they will be charging me $2000/yr instead. Do I have to pay the higher amount amount for the time while I was insured by them (about 2 weeks) before they told me they made a mistake (and the mistake was entirely their fault)?

I'd think they would need to renew the contract at the new price if I actually wanted to stay with them. I plan on switching companies since it's a horrible rate, but would like to know if I can do anything if they do take the higher rate out of my account (I'm set up for direct withdrawals and I agreed to pay the next 3 months when the rate was $1000)?

They probably won't answer my email til monday, so I'm hoping someone here can help me out sooner. Thanks.|||You can send them a registered letter canceling the policy and get your bank to stop the payment. You will need to find alternate insurance immediately and if the first company did make an honest mistake, the new company will likely charge the same rate.|||No they can't make you pay that amount.... you are free to cancel the policy and get insurance someplace else, but I bet you will end up paying about $2000 someplace else. So your choice, pay or have no insaurance and yes they can change the amount like this.|||When they change rates after the fact, the contract should be void, and n payment necessary.

You did not agree to the higher rate, unless you signed an open ended contract, you owe nothing.

Whats the deal with McAfee Internet Security Suite?

I bought the full program in a retail store (39.99$) and now it's saying I need to renew my subscription for another amount of money (50+ dollars) Does this affect how I am being protected with viruses or will it still work regardless of not renewing my subscription? Right now it seems up and running... but the I don't know if this new alert about subscribing will affect it soon.|||did you buy it, and then have it for a year? you shouldn't have to renew until your subscription expires. you will be protected from all but the most current viruses because you can't keep up to date without renewing.|||It will keep working - it just won't update the latest virus patterns any more until you pay.|||did you have Mcafee Internet security kit on your PC, before you purchase this one?

if you do all you had to do is renew subscription over the Internet.|||All I can tell you is if it is not up to date with the very latest definitions you will be at more risk.|||its will affect it soon. remove it from your comp and get the free avg virus software. download.com|||The software will always work if you installed it. The subscription is for periodic updates, mainly definitions, which it needs to find new viruses and spyware. When you bought it, it should have come with a one year subscription, but you will need to renew it every year for the latest updates.

If you want something free, try AVG free edition

http://free.grisoft.com/.|||when did you buy it. they are usually 90 day or twelve month subscriptions. if you need to renew you are not protected as it wont update and deal with new viruses.

my advice? delete it no matter when you bought it.

dl this http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-pr鈥?/a>

its free and it works|||Well, I am the lucky owner of McAfee as well..but it automatically comes with my cable Internet service free of charge. If your free year of updates has expired, then you can either resubscribe or risk it. New virus definitions are always being written and there's always someone crazily trying to hack the planet out there....go figure.

Your McAfee is fine for now...but you may be at risk later on down the road.

Goto downloads.com and search for free virus protection....some programs are free to download and update themselves on a regular basis too....that is, if you want to ditch McAfee.|||Usually the subscription with the initial purchase is for a year. If you want to keep all of the updates and most current protection you must update. But check again at the store, many times you can buy a new product cheaper than renewing the old one. There also many free virus checkers that work quite well including AVG and Avast which can be downloaded from cnet.com.|||McAfee is basically a rip-off. It will make you pay every single year or the damn thing won't work. Even when it is updated McAfee is notorious for not working well and letting in viruses and spyware.

AVG really is one of the best Antivirus programs out there, and It's FREE and it updates often. They do have one you can pay for and it includes more features. Unlike McAfee with AVG you only have to pay once and you don't have to keep paying money for something you've already bought.
