I have been a resident of this country fo ten years now and because i spend all day working almost every day of the week I had forgotten all about the important stuff. I became a resident at the age of 16 now I am 26. Some people have told me that i can become a citizen by just filling out some forms and paying whatever amount they charge because I was a minor when I became resident. Help please. And thanks in advance|||http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m鈥?/a>
you can file to be a become a citizen but you need a full 6 months left on your green card before you can apply
you need form N400 for that|||Sorry but "I had forgotten about all the important stuff" does not work in a courtroom.
If you go out of status, you will be in profound trouble. You could be deported at the drop of a hat, and banned from re-entry for 10 years.
You do have the option of paying for citizenship; that will cost you $500,000 in investments.
You need to see an immigration lawyer ASAP and figure out your status.
